HELIAD is a population-based, multidisciplinary, collaborative study taking place in Greece and, specifically, in a suburb of Athens and an urban area, the city of Larissa (including its rural surroundings). The sample consisted of community-dwelling older people aged ≥65 years old, who were selected through random sampling from municipality registries.
