Description:
Alfa+ is a prospective, observational cohort study the BarcelonaBeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) aimed at describing biological processes and identifying factors that can predict the preclinical phase of Alzheimer"s disease. Thanks to the extensive characterization of more than 400 cognitively unimpaired participants from the Alfa study, Alfa+ analyzes the association between fluid, brain, biological, structural, functional, and neurocognitive markers that characterize the preclinical phase of the disease and describe its natural history.
The GNPC is a major neurodegenerative disease biomarker discovery effort. Launched in 2023, it is uniting and expanding the available molecular “fingerprinting” data for thousands of patient samples across dozens of different dementia and population cohorts.
This version of the dataset includes all the data from the Alfa+ cohort used to derive the "harmonized" dataset for GNPC.
This dataset includes a total of 443 participants and three timepoints. Of them, 381 have data for the third timepoint. The participant"s clinical and demographic information, genetic APOE and proteomics are included in the dataset.
