Documentation
Description:
To date we have studied 10 case studies. In total, we captured 41 videos. Recording of minimally invasive surgery will start when the camera enters the body and finish when the camera is removed. When possible, this will be done using already available equipment that is commonly used in the hospitals. For open surgery, recordings will either be made by a medical photographer or by the surgical team using minimally invasive camera equipment or a standalone camera. Video recordings will capture the entire procedure so that the research team can document the key components of the procedure, investigate how the procedure is refined and identify how unexpected events, patient or contextual factors are dealt with.
