SAHSU - National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS)

Dataset

Documentation

Description:
The cancer data was collected via the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS). It collects, quality-assures, and analyses data on all individuals diagnosed with malignant and pre-malignant neoplasms. NCRAS sources data from hospitals, pathology laboratories, screening programmes, treatment centres, and death certificates, consolidating it into a unified national registry. The cancer registration dataset includes detailed information on patient demographics, tumour characteristics, diagnostic details, staging, treatment, recurrence, and survival outcome. NCRAS supplies this data to NHS England, where it can be securely linked to other datasets. This enables the provision of cancer status notifications, supports ethically approved research studies, and facilitates the identification of potential participants for clinical trials. SAHSU provides the following datasets from NCRAS: - Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Dataset (SACT) - National Radiotherapy Dataset (RTDS) SAHSU holds a data sharing agreement with NHS England and has access to a restricted subset of variables from the full dataset. The dataset may be internally linkable with SAHSU's environmental datasets, including air pollution and green space.
