Description:
Admitted Patient Care (APC) data is part of the Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) data warehouse that contains details of all inpatient admissions to NHS health care providers in England. The patients include private patients and residents outside of England, who were treated by NHS health care providers, including treatment by the independent sector, if funded by the NHS. All NHS health care providers in England, including acute hospital trusts, primary care trusts and mental health trusts provide data. It includes patient-level data such as age, sex, diagnoses, procedures, admission and discharge dates, and home address. Diagnoses are coded using the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10).
SAHSU holds a data sharing agreement with NHS England and has access to a restricted subset of variables from the full dataset.
The dataset may be internally linkable with SAHSU's environmental datasets, including air pollution and green space.
