Address_Format_Code_Mother

The administrative category code of the patient at the start of the episode of admitted patient care.

Admin_Category_at_Start

The administrative category code of the patient.

Administrative_Category

The start date of the hospital provider spell.

Admission_Date

The method of admission to a hospital provider spell.

Admission_Method

The start time of the hospital provider spell.

Admission_Time

Derived as the number of completed years between the person birth date of the patient and the Commissioning Data Set (CDS) activity date.

Age_at_CDS_Activity_Date

Age of the patient at the date of the end of the episode.

Age_at_End_of_Episode_SUS

Age of the patient at the date of the start of the episode.

Age_at_Start_of_Episode_SUS

Age group of patients intended to use a ward indicated in the operational plan.

Age_Group_Intended_At_Episode_End

Age_Group_Intended_At_Episode_Start

Derived as the number of completed years between the person birth date of the patient and the start date (hospital provider spell).

Age_on_Admission

The age range of the mother of the patient derived from the Episode Start Date or the Delivery Date.

Age_Range_Mother_SUS

Age range of the patient derived from the date of birth. Derived by SUS.

Age_Range_SUS

A number (alphanumeric) to provide a unique identifier for a line within a NHS service agreement. An NHS service agreement is a formal agreement between a commissioner organisation and one or more provider organisations for the provision of patient care services.

Agreement_Line_Number

An identifier for each patient transport journey.

Ambulance_Incident_Number

The type of anaesthetic and/or analgesic administered to the mother during or after Labour and Delivery.

APCE_PCD_Indicator

APCE_Raw_ID is now being populated with SpellEpisodesSystemRecordIdentifier. However, the data item will remain in the output because it is frequently used in reporting.

APCE_Raw_ID

Within each spell, episodes are numbered according to the order they occur in. This field flags the first episode in each spell. Indicates whether the episode is the first (admission) episode within the spell (0 or 1).

APCS_First_Ep_Ind

APCS_Ident

For each APCS_Ident, the episode with the highest Der_Episode_Number is flagged with a 1 (where it is not a duplicate) indicating that it is the last episode in the spell. A derived data element which identifies whether the consultant episode is the final episode in the hospital provider spell.

APCS_Last_Ep_Ind

Internal field to identify individual loads. Now using Audit ID to populate APCS_Load_ID.

APCS_Load_ID

The date (with an associated CDS applicable time) of the update event (or the nearest equivalent) that resulted in the need to exchange this commissioning data set.

Used to identify which load batch the record belongs to.

AuditID

The birth weight, where the unit of measurement is grams (g).

The assigned EDI (electronic data interchange, a standard way of formatting data for exchange between organisations) address of the physical organisation or site responsible for sending commissioning data.

A code to identify the specific type of commissioning data set data.

Census_Area_2001_SUS

The date on which the relevant census was undertaken.

Census_Date

Census_ED_1991

The organisation code of the organisation commissioning health care.

Commissioner_Code

Commissioner_Org_Code_Type

A number (alphanumeric) allocated by the commissioner to a referral request.

Commissioner_Reference_Number

The same as attribute NHS service agreement number (a number used to uniquely identify a NHS service agreement by an organisation acting as commissioner of patient care services).

Commissioning_Serial_Number

Indicates how confidential a record is, can be null (not marked as confidential), (extremely sensitive - all personal confidential data items will be null), (sensitive - if personal confidential data is supplied by provider it is pseudonymised by SUS) or (other sensitive - all personal confidential data will be set to null by SUS).

Confidentiality_Category_SUS

A code uniquely identifying a consultant.

Consultant_Code

Country

Either the county of a location, or the county of the patient&#039;s place of residence, derived from the submitted postcode.

County_Code

Decided_To_Admit_Date

The date of delivery for each registrable birth and corresponds to the data element date.

Delivery_Date

The method by which the process of labour began, or delivery by caesarean section occurred.

Delivery_Onset_Method

If the place of delivery is different from the place originally intended, either in the type of place or geographically, the reasons for change should be classified.

Delivery_Place_Change_Reason

The delivery place type where the pregnant woman plans to have her baby. The first intended delivery place is recorded, as designated by the care professional in consultation with the patient.

Delivery_Place_Type_Intended

Takes the year and month values from the Arrival_Date/Episode_End_Date/Discharge_Date/Appointment_Date. For SLAM data, derived as the financial year month number of the activity.

Der_Activity_Month

Calculated using the patient&#039;s date of birth and the Arrival_Date/Episode_End_Date/Discharge_Date/Appointment_Date.

Der_Age_At_CDS_Activity_Date

When Commissioner_Code starts with Y then the first 5 characters of Commissioner_Code are taken, otherwise the first three characters are taken.

Der_Commissioner_Code

Derived to show if the data is sourced from SEM (data before 15/16) or from the SUS+ database (data from 15/16) OR Unified Extracts.

Der_DataSource

Concatenates strings of all of the populated Der_Primary_Diagnosis_Code and Der_Secondary_Diagnosis_Code_[01-23] fields in the record.

Der_Diagnosis_All

Count of the number of *_Diagnosis_Code_[01-24] fields populated (i.e. not null) within the record.

Der_Diagnosis_Count

Calculated by subtracting Der_PbR_ACC_Days, Der_PbR_PCC_Days, Der_PbR_NCC_Days, Der_SEM_CCP_Days, Der_SEM_SPC_Days and Der_SEM_Rehab_Days from Der_Episode_LoS.

The difference, in days, between the Episode_Start_Date and Episode_End_Date.

The sum total of the number of ACC (Adult Critical Care) days in the episode according to linkage to a separate PbR (Payment by Results) episode data set.

Der_PbR_ACC_Days

The sum total of the number of NCC (Neonatal Critical Care) days in the episode according to linkage to a separate PbR (Payment by Results) episode data set.

Der_PbR_NCC_Days

The sum total of the number of PCC (Paediatric Critical Care) days in the episode according to linkage to a separate PbR (Payment by Results) episode data set.

Der_PbR_PCC_Days

The code of the CCG where the patient&#039;s postcode of usual address is based, unless the given postcode is ZZ99 3VZ (no fixed abode), ZZ99 3WZ (address not known) or ZZ99 3CZ (England UK - not specified), in which case NULL is given.
